How long does your city take to approve housing? Peninsula jurisdictions ranked by a friction score combining RHNA progress, application-to-permit conversion rates, median approval timelines, and ADU statutory compliance under AB 68/881. Built on HCD Annual Progress Report data.

Enrollment vs. Housing →

K-12 enrollment in most San Mateo County districts peaked around 2015–2017 and has fallen since — including in the districts building the most units. A direct rebuttal to “new housing will overwhelm our schools.”
